You Can't Teach Hungry

My name is Attorney Kingpin. I have been attorney for approximately 4 months. I graduated law school in 2011 and became an attorney in 2016 (Wow that seems even longer when I write it down). It has been a long and tumultuous journey. I had to take a couple detours but I'm here now. So I wanted to chronicle my time as an attorney, just so I can have the record and maybe to be helpful to someone else.

So you might look at the title of this blog and be confused as to why the name of this blog is "Feeding The Hungry" when this is essentially going to be a blog about law and business. The reason is because my role model and virtual mentor is John Bryan Morgan Esq., Businessman, Attorney, Activist, Philanthropist, etc. When I was in law school all the commercials I saw were of this gentle kind attorney that would get on TV or come on the radio and not even talk about selling legal services but he would just talk real nice like he was a family friend giving you advice that you should probably really listen to. I thought, that's a cool dude. Then one night I go to Church Street (which if you know has nothing to do with church) with a couple of my friends and there's this drunk guy walking about with a huge bodyguard stumbling all over the place just having a great time. And I was like who is that? It was John Morgan! This guy was actually kind of wild. I don't know what about that I liked but it was  amusing and it made me like him even more. Then I learned that he wasn't just another personal injury attorney he was the head of the largest personal injury firm in the country. He was a democratic king maker. He was a very successful businessman. He was a community activist. And an all around power broker. I mean was there nothing not to like about this guy. He had a great family to boot. So to make a short story long. He wrote a book called "You Can't Teach Hungry" I've read it at least 3 times already and it is the blue print for how I will build my firm.

In his book Mr. Morgan says that the most vital characteristic of a successful personal injury attorney is a burning desire to succeed and see justice done. According to John Morgan either you have IT or you don't. IT being the hunger for success. And I always believed that I have IT. I have always managed to succeed in the midst of difficulty and hardship. BUT I realized that I never soared as high as I could. I have been content with flying at all. Now I am going to soar like an eagle. I plan on fully immersing myself in my legal practice and succeeding at the highest levels possible.

This is my blog about my journey to feed the hunger within me for success. I am the hungry.
